Prank Gone Wrong: How a UNIZIK Graduate's Life Was Cut Short

Ifunanya Miracle, a recent graduate of Quantity Surveying from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, tragically died while trying to escape a prank that turned into a robbery attempt at her school in Awka, Anambra State. Her friend, Peace, who studies Pure and Industrial Chemistry, was also involved and sustained injuries, requiring treatment at a local hospital.

Ifunanya ran a Point-of-Sale (PoS) business on campus and had just closed for the day on June 9, 2024. She and Peace were in a tricycle when another passenger tried to rob them. In their attempt to escape, both jumped out of the moving tricycle. Unfortunately, Ifunanya hit her head and later died from her injuries, while Peace was injured but survived.

A fellow student mentioned that the man who tried to rob them later claimed it was a prank and reportedly turned himself in to the police. The incident has raised concerns about the university's handling of the case, especially since Ifunanya had just graduated.

The university confirmed the incident, stating that it was an expensive prank gone wrong. The families of the victims and the prankster have met with the university, and the prankster will face disciplinary actions after Ifunanya's burial. The university expressed regret over the incident and warned against dangerous pranks.
