The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State recently celebrated its 12th matriculation ceremony, welcoming 9,000 new students for the 2023/2024 academic session. Professor Armaya’u Hamisu-Bichi, the Vice Chancellor, highlighted the university's popularity, with over 11,336 applicants vying for admission this year. Among the new students, 6,800 are in regular programs, while 2,200 enrolled in the School of Continuing Education.
Professor Hamisu-Bichi emphasized FUDMA's commitment to providing a conducive academic environment for students to explore their potential. The university, recognized as one of the fastest-expanding in the country, boasts a College of Health Sciences, 13 Faculties, 58 Departments, and 71 Programs. Notably, the National Universities Commission (NUC) recently approved 44 additional academic programs across various faculties.

Addressing the security challenges facing the country, the Vice Chancellor urged the new students to be security-conscious, emphasizing the importance of following basic security tips and advisories issued by the university and government. As FUDMA continues to grow, it remains dedicated to offering quality education and ensuring the safety of its academic community.
