The Department of Computer Science/Mathematics was solely formed to train students by giving them sound knowledge and skills in the areas of computer science, basic electronics and computer technology so as to produce skilled manpower basically for technology, information technology and telecommunication management. Also, to produce graduates who can apply their computing knowledge in solving problems in the private sector and the public sector.
Objectives
The programmes in the Department of Computer Science/Mathematics is to
1. Give the students sound knowledge and skills in the areas of mathematics, computing technology, basic electronics and advances in the computing world.
2. Provide the rudimentary knowledge of entrepreneurial principles that will help the students in professional career development in the industry and also to be self-reliant.
3. Ensure that the students acquire the practical, professional and intellectual skills that make them solutions providers in computer science and technology.
Produce the required manpower that are employable in software application firms, hi-tech industries, manufacturing, research, government establishments, institutions of higher learning and all the sectors of the economy.
