Department of Accounting

The department’s  academic programme has been developed on the foundation that the student is entitled to acquire profound theoretical and practical knowledge that is necessary to face the challenges of life, to be self-reliant, to contribute to national development and being proactive in today’s world.







Objectives:



1. To inculcate in the student the requisite intellectual and conceptual foundations that will permit  meaningful participation in discussion and resolution of problems confronting the accounting practices and the economy.



2. To encourage research into problems that impede the economic development of Nigeria.



3. To develop the student’s skills in logical reasoning and critical analysis necessary to formulate sound accounting policies and practices.



4. To produce graduates with entrepreneurial and innovative spirit fit to become employers of labour.



To produce graduates with good leadership and human relations skills for organizations.







Programmes:



The Department of Accounting runs two B.Sc. programmes and these are:



1. B.Sc. in Accounting



2. B.Sc. in Banking and Finance.
