In her remarks, IMSU acting vice chancellor, Professor Adaobi Obasi, said the essence of the event was to honour the institution’s alumni who had been elevated and given higher and sensitive portfolios.
“We appreciate you for graduating from IMSU. You are really good ambassadors of the university,” she said.
Professor Anwuka is a former vice chancellor of IMSU and an in-law to Imo state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
A recent media report revealed that all is not well between Professor Anwuka and his superior in the ministry of education, Malam Adamu Adamu.
Both ministers were said to have fallen out over the removal of 17 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of parastatals, agencies and commissions under the ministry of education.
Professor Anuwuka was reportedly sidelined by Malam Adamu in the scheme of things in the decisions taken.
The ministers have since denied the report during a joint press conference.
