China to establish a university in Kano, Nigeria





China Shenyang University of Chemical Technology has said it will establish a university of chemical technology in Nigeria.

The school says its decision was borne out of the need to ease Nigerian student’s travails in search of knowledge overseas.

Yang who led a delegation to Nigeria and noted that the China Shenyang University of Technology is also working to strengthen bilateral relations between the universities in Nigeria and China. He told his audience that the university was ready to cooperate with Nigerian universities and the business community to set up a chemical technology university in Nigeria. 


We want to start students exchange programme with Nigerian government universities such as Bayero University Kano (BUK), Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil and Federal College of Education Technical (FCE Bichi) all in Kano,” 



Daily Trust quoted Yang as saying. Partnerships between Nigerian and foreign universities are common place in Nigeria. Schools like ABTI American University, Yola and Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state has since started such initiatives.

This information was made known by Hungary’s minster of foreign affairs and trade, Péter Szijjarto when he met his Nigerian counterpart, Geoffrey Onyeama on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit held three months ago in Washington D.C.
